FUERTEVENTURA TRAVEL GUIDE

Fuerteventura Travel Guide - Fuerteventura is an island that can be found in the Atlantic Ocean, off of the coast of Africa. It is so close to Africa that only a narrow channel separates the two places. One of the oldest Spanish islands, this location is part of the Canary Islands, featuring one of the longest beaches in the area. It is the second largest within the Canary Island area. The island is comprised of six sections, which are Antigua, La Oliva, Betancuria, Pajara, Tuineje, as well as Puerto del Rosario, which is the island‘s capital.

In order to familiarize yourself with the area before arriving, you should know that the oldest town in Fuerteventura is Betancuria. Many tourists travel to this destination in hopes of catching a few relaxing rays on the beach, which can be found at Corralejo in the north, as well as Sotavento located in the south. Keep in mind that Corralejo is also a nudist-friendly area. When tourists wish to engage in a bit of fishing, they will find comfort in Jandia-Paraja.

When exploring Corralejo, this former fishing village has been transformed into a popular holiday destination, catering to visitors who wish to stay at one of the many apartments or hotels in this area. These accommodations can be located on one side of the large bay in the area. As you reach one of the windiest section within the Canary Islands, you will find yourself in Sotavento, where endless beach land awaits.

While visiting the island, there are many things to accomplish and explore. Some of the more adventurous travelers may want to try their hand at a variety of watersports that the area promotes. Because of the great weather on the island, tourists can test out their nerves as they explore the exciting activity of surfing at any time of the year.

Other activities include scuba diving, fishing and sailing. For the less adventurous, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a nice sightseeing trip on the water, where dolphins and whales are commonplace attractions. The natural setting of the island also provides visitors with an chance to encounter spacious plains, volcanic mountains, as well as intriguing nature tours. Don’t you think it’s time to experience this diamond in the rough?
