Honolulu Travel Guide - When planning a vacation to Honolulu, you should know that it is the capital and largest region of Hawaii. It is also considered to be around the 16th largest city in the U.S. Some of the main areas in Honolulu to visit includes the downtown area, the eastern suburbs of Oahu, as well as the popular tourist district of Waikiki.

 

When you reach Downtown Honolulu, you will find yourself within the center of Hawaii, filled with many government, financial and commercial options to explore. Upon locating the waterfront, there is an attraction called the Aloha Tower which is one of the tallest structures within Hawaii. If you want to see the tallest building in the area, check out the First Hawaiian Center, which stands at 438 feet and can be found on King and Bishop Streets.

Between the Ala Wai Canal and the Pacific Ocean, Waikiki can be located. This area is home to many hotels, nightlife entertainment and shops, especially along the Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues. Millions of tourists flock to Waikiki throughout the year. When you are in the mood to enjoy a nice shopping spree, head for the Ala Moana Center, which offers one of the world’s largest open-air shopping arena.

Honolulu features many activities and attractions that a tourist will find satisfying and exciting, such as trips to the Koolau Mountains; visits to ancient lava flows, as well as walks on some of the most beautiful beaches. The natural surroundings that the area provides places tourists in a relaxing, calm atmosphere. You will not want to leave this paradise once you arrive.
