Also in this area, you will find Runaway Bay and Ocho Rios. When you reach the western end of the island, you will encounter Negril, where you can enjoy a variety of sporting activities, as well as the entertaining live music of the area. On the eastern end of the island, you will find Port Antonio, which is considered a nice secluded area to hideaway.

As a tourist, you should know that English is the main language of the island, but keep in mind that you will encounter patois, which is a mixture of English, Spanish, Portuguese and African phrases; combined with Jamaican slang. Sometimes this can be a difficult language to decipher.
