Key West is also home to a host of interesting tales. The author, Ernest Hemingway spent a great deal of time in the area, deciding to make this his home for a spell. Here, it is said that he was inspired by his conversations with the locals to write many stories. There is also a house of his to tour where you will encounter the descendants of his well-known six-toed felines. He is not the only one to reside or be inspired by the area; the likes of playwright, Tennessee Williams; poet Robert Frost and John James Audubon, the well-known naturalist, have all spent time in the area.
