Malaga Travel Guide - In an area of southern Spain, referred to as Andalucia, there is a port city called Malaga, which is situated on the Costa del Sol coast. On the map, you will locate Malaga in the Mediterranean. A large population of tourists travel to this destination, especially because of the inexpensive flight options offered from departure cities, such as London and Amsterdam. The Costa del Sol area is known to provide lovely beach land, as well as favorable weather conditions.

Malaga can also be used as a convenient starting point when one wishes to explore Spain. Seville, Cordoba, as well as Granada can easily be visited from Malaga by car, bus or rail. But don’t think that Malaga won’t grab your attention, there are plenty of attractions in the area, prompting many to spend days exploring what this destination has to offer.

In Malaga, you will be able to visit places, such as the Arabic fortress of Alcazaba; Gibralfaro Castle Harbor, which is quite important within Spain, as well as the Museo Municipal, which is simply the city museum. There are plenty of museums to browse about during your stay, including the Home Museum of Picasso; the Museum of Modern Art, as well as the Arts and People’s Traditions Museum.

Many enjoy paying a visit to a church while touring the area. In Malaga, there are several to consider, such as the Cathedral of the Encarnation, which is a neoclassical example located in the inner city; Iglesia del Sagrario, which can be found in the inner city as well; and the St. Jacob’s Church. Other points of interest in the area include: Plaza de Toros, which is a bullring; and a palace within the inner city called Palacio de los Condes de Buenavista.

The list of things to do and places to explore are endless when you are passing through a city like Malaga. Another relaxing excursion to consider may be a visit to one of the many beaches in the area. The center of the town is referred to as Paseo del Parque, which starts at Plaza de la Marina. This section of Malaga features banana trees and fountains as your surroundings, where you will soon encounter a nice beach to settle at.
