Mallorca Travel Guide - Traveling throughout the Mediterranean Sea, you will encounter many destinations that are sure to provide an exciting vacation spot to explore. One of the Balearic Islands that you may want to check out includes Mallorca, which is also referred to as Majorca in English. This destination can be located in Spain and is the largest out of all of the Balearic Islands. Millions of people travel to this location; some in search of great bird watching opportunities; some in search of exciting beach land.

The island’s capital is called Palma de Mallorca, which is also considered the capital of the group of locations that make up the Balearic Islands. The capital is one of the more popular locations to visit, offering an array of attractions to admire, as well as activities to participate in. Here, you will encounter Gothic architecture, as well as many village gems.

The island also offers lovely beaches that can be located on the north and east coast of the island. The beautiful Serra de Tramuntana mountain ranges also call Mallorca their home. With the mountains as the perfect backdrop to any excursion, you will be able to explore many small beaches filled with a variety of rocks and pebbles beneath your feet. The valleys of the area burst with greenery, featuring colorful orchards producing oranges, lemons, grapes and other fruits and vegetables.

The list of things to do and places to see is everchanging and neverending. A tourist can lose themselves within the numerous cathedrals, castles, museums, as well as galleries in the area. Activities, such as several water sports, caving adventures; wildlife tours and golfing outings can be enjoyed at this destination.

As a tourist, you should know that the local language of your vacation spot is Catalan, which produces a variety of different dialects. The official language of the island is considered to be Spanish. The locals you may encounter will display bilingual capabilities; some able to speak and understand English or German.
