Maui Travel Guide - The second largest of the Hawaiian Islands is Maui, which is also referred to as the Valley Isle. Many ethnic groups can be found residing at this location, creating a diverse community among the people. They poured into the area looking for work in the sugar cane and pineapple plantations within the island. When visiting Maui, some of the towns you may want to explore include Kahului, Kihei, Lahain and Wailuku.

Tourists come to this island in order to enjoy a variety of natural setting activities and attractions. A visitor to the area could spend the day swimming with tropical fish; climbing a 10,000 foot volcano; and exploring the terrain of a bamboo forest. There are plenty of relaxing beaches awaiting your arrival, as well as many cultural and artistic adventures to explore. Other pursuits include diving with sea turtles, hiking and tanning.

Some of the top attractions in the area includes the Road to Hana, which leads you to the beautiful rain forest located in the eastern shore of Maui. When you enter the Wai'anapanapa State Park, you will be able to explore a cave pool, as well as the black sands on the beach. The Haleakala National Park allows tourists to encounter a variety of volcanic adventures regarding Haleakala, which is also known as the House of the Sun. When you want to enjoy a bit of windsurfing, you could try your luck at Ho'okipa Beach. The island is also filled with numerous restaurants, shopping districts and golf courses.

As a tourist, you should familiarize yourself with some of the areas that are available when traveling throughout Maui. The main airport can be found in Central Maui, which is where most of the population resides. Great shopping opportunities and dining options can be found here. When you wish to experience some of the historical buildings of the area, you should check out Wailuku, which is also where you will find the Bailey House Museum.
