Turkey Travel Guide - Separating Southwest Asia from Southeast Europe is the bicentennial country of Turkey. Surrounding this destination, you will find the Black Sea, as well as the Mediterranean Sea. It is a location that holds one of the most number of bordering countries, providing access to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Armenia, Georgia, Greece and Bulgaria.

 

Turkey is a land that is divided up into more than 80 provinces. Each of these provinces are sectioned into sub provinces. Each of these provinces has capitals of their own. In Turkey, the capital is called Ankara, although the largest city is Istanbul. For example, there is the Beypazari Culture and History Museum, located in Ankara. As a tourist, you should get to know a bit about the language you will encounter while traveling throughout Turkey. The most popular language of the land is English and German. If you are planning on passing through some of the villages or remote areas in Turkey, you will encounter locals who speak nothing but Turkish. To ease your relations with those you encounter, it wouldn’t hurt to study a few phrases or words. When you are interested in purchasing an item during your travels, you should know that the unit of currency of the land is the Turkish lira. Bills come in denominations of: 250,000, 500,000, 1,000,000, 5,000,000, 10,000,000, and 20,000,000. You will find that the coins are expressed in units of: 25,000, 50,000, 100,000, and 250,000.
